PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE
The private pilot certificate is the first step to gaining access to the skies! You will train on a multitude of topics including weather, aerodynamics, flight planning, and airplane systems; while applying this knowledge to each flight. Before you know it, you will pass your FAA checkride and be a certificated private pilot! Those weekend getaways are now a reality!
As a private pilot, you may fly passengers, fly at night, split costs (pro-rata) with passengers, fly charity events, etc.
Currently, the national average for new private pilots is roughly 65 hours. A rough breakdown of these hours might look like:
50 hours dual instruction
15 hours solo training
20 hours ground instruction
